Post Twelve: how you have addressed the topic of this class in the Major Project

The Anthropocene & Our Major Project

The Anthropocene is a period during which human activity has been the dominant influence on climate and the environment. This was an integral part of our project as it is the very reason we had to create the presentation in the first place. We incorporated the Anthropocene into our project by displaying how our human activities like burning fossil fuels are affecting planet earth and how these bad every day choices we make will lead us to a terrible and horrific future. We outlined how certain business choices they have made are unacceptable but also offered possible solutions for the company so they don't feel hopeless, like many of us do when exposed to the horrors of what the future of Anthropocene holds.
I implemented a diagram into the second slide of the presentation that tells you quickly of the future of climate change.



I felt as though this diagram had too many bright happy colours which prohibited us to get the detrimental effect of the situation across. So the next two following slides were more realistic visions of whats happening now and in the future.
I feel this really helped us get our point across about the urgency of the Anthropocene. We spoke of the cold hard data that surrounded our ever realizing reality such as oil will lead to contaminated water supplies which will in turn destroy ecosystems; kill mammals, fish and birds and hinder irrigation.

We outline in the script that it is our unique awareness of our impact on the planet that is what makes it possible to help save us from this dreadful future like stated in the end of this video-
We discuss how we can and are able to work with the economy and modern science to achieve a better future.

Our closing was very inspiring and positive, we hoped to encourage them to take the Anthropocene head on. 

"Through innovation and determination, our aspirations to form a cleaner future will be within a reaching distance but only with your help. We need to go beyond and ensure a carbon positive future, not just a carbon natural one. Our future is in your hands and  we are here to open your eyes and to inspire you to become greater and kinder to this very earth that you and I both walk on. We need your help to heal the planet, to make our soil rich, to make our skies shine, and to make our oceans glimmer with life again.
